A day off (yeah, right)

So the babysitter couldn't come on Tuesday (again). This is the flakeyist babysitter ever, but that is a story for another time...So she says she can come for 3 hours today. I sent them off to the park with lunch and what did I do with my time off, you ask? I cleaned the house. I even cleaned the carpets. Then I went grocery shopping. What's wrong with me? I really need a life (and a housekeeper). I feel like all I do is clean, and yet, the house is always a disaster. I vacuumed, I mopped, I scrubbed. And when they got home, Gracie peed on the newly cleaned carpets (we are having potty training issues, suddenly) And then Cameron spilled his juice on the newly mopped floor. And now all the couch cushions are on the floor and the house looks the same as when they left. I should have taken a nap...

Well it's good to see you've still managed to keep your sense of humor!

I'm only tired when I'm not able to nap. As soon as I have "free" time, sleeping is the last thing I want to do! Unfortunately, I often use my free time to do housework too. What the heck is wrong with us?

Seriously, why do you do all those chores then? I'd save some of it for the weekend when your husband can help you. You need some time for you to decompress. At least, I know I do...and it's been hard to find time lately.

You should take a nap or at least get a paycheck (yeah right).

It's so hard when they are gone to do nothing. I end up feeling guilty. Unless I'm writing, but that even makes me feels because I like it so much. So there you have it...guilt, guilt, guilt.

I am convinced that cleaning the carpets means that more will be spilled on them in the next 24 hours than ever has! It never fails that someone will spill their drink on the kitchen floor if I have washed it that day. We cleaned our van over the weekend and the next day . . . throw up! :) Eeekkk! Amy
