Beautiful Sunday!

I love Spring! The weather here is usually nicer than Summer. Scott had to work today(poor thing!) but he let me sleep unitl 9:00 because I came stumbling in at 1:30 Am from a poker party! But then he left and we headed out to a fountain to play in. Then we had lunch outside in the sun and Now we're home hanging out and Scott is home. I hope you are all having such a nice day!

You know it's been a long week when...

It's 7:00 PM and your husband isn't home yet, so you dig through the cupboards for something, anything to drink that has alcohol in it. The only thing you can find is a cheap bottle of Champagne in the back of the fridge left over from New Year's Eve. So you spend 20 minutes trying to get the darn thing open and then make yourself a "champagne cocktail" with fruit punch...Husband's home now, Kids are in bed,"cocktail"in hand...Ahhhh...Happy Friday!

Why I love the Gym...

(Yeah, you read that right)
The Gym has 2 hours of free child care.
The Gym has Oprah on a large flat screen T.V.
At the Gym I can listen to my Ipod, uninterrupted
The Gym has a hot tub
The Gym has showers where no one is outside banging on the door
The Gym has a lounge where I can, well, lounge. Maybe even with a magazine!
The Gym has free coffee (free!)
I still hate working out. Hate.It. Like counting the seconds until it's over, hate it.
But it is worth it, because I love the Gym!!

What's for Dinner?

When Cameron was born, I didn't have a lot of friends and family close by. My sister stayed for 3 weeks, thank God, or we would have starved. When I joined the Mother's club I decided to start an "In a pinch" service. Mostly for mom's who have just had babies, a death in the family, just moved here, etc... I would recruit people to bring about a weeks worth of meals to this family. I really enjoyed helping others and would usually bring a meal myself. I will make you 5 course meal! Salad, homemade cornbread, fresh baked cookies (or, Cotchies, as Gracie calls them-cracks me up every time!!) and an entree with vegetables....Lately, though, it has been getting to my husband. He comes home and says "ooohh, cookies..." And I say "back away from the cookies, they are for so and so, who just had a baby". Then he will say "What is that great smell?". "It is homemade bread, for so and so also". Then he will ask "well, what are We having for dinner?". To which I reply "frozen pizza". And he asks "Why don't you ever make these elaborate meals for us??" Yeah, like I have time for that...

I've been tagged a couple of times...

So here goes. 6 weird things about me:
1. I am afraid of the dark and slept with the light on until I moved away from home at age 20. I still sleep with the light on when Scott is out of town.
2. I have an irrational fear that something terrible will happen to my family. I am not afraid of dying, but am terrified that someone I love will (is that selfish??)
3. I was not ever "popular" and still only have a few very close friends
4. I am a Disney fanactic. I go to Disneyland at least twice a year and love anything Disney.
5. I am very disorganized,no matter how hard I try. I am also obsessed about becoming organized and will buy any gadget to make me more organized, but it does not work!
6. I have not traveled very much at all and didn't even have a passport until we went to China.

Busy,Busy,Busy...

This week has flown by, unlike last weeks rain drenched, no school week. We went to China town on Tuesday. I feel so lucky that we live so close to such a great China Town. It really does remind me so much of China. and the shopping! I can find most everything I bought in China, but at 3 times the price, so buy it there! But it is nice to know I can get something special if I need it.

The things that nobody tells you...

There really should be a class you can(and should) take to prepare you for Motherhood. I really wasn't prepared for all of the hats I would have to wear. Driver, negotiator, chef, psychologist ,maid ,teacher, playmate, social coordinator, the list goes on. Well, today, I had to add "Doctor" to the list. Cameron came to me and said, Mommy, I put something in my nose and I can't get it out". You did what??? So I have to lay him down, pin his hands and dig out a small piece of rubber, about the size of a button, out of his nose! There was no way I was going to wake Gracie from her nap, when it was the first time I had sat down all day, to take him to the doctor...The things nobody tells you...

More Fun than I can handle...

We didn't have any plans for Spring break, but we seem to have filled up our days! Since it has been raining since Sunday, and will continue to rain until Sunday, we have been finding fun indoor activities. Today we were at Chuck E. Cheeses at 9:30 AM to avoid the crowds. We were the only poeple there. Then we headed over to the mall to meet some friends for a "Mall easter egg hunt". They give you clues and you have to find a gold egg in certain stores...Then we hit the play area for a while. Then Lunch and finally, the train. I am exhausted! We have also been doing arts and crafts up a storm! Are you sure it's only Wednesday???

Crazy Wedding

We were in Fresno this weekend for a wedding. Yes, Scott still has friends that haven't been married...It started at 4:00. The wedding part lasted abut 20 minutes, and then the reception began. And what a reception it was! It lasted until 11:45 PM. That's right, 7 hours and 15 minutes of dancing, drinking, and eating!(not necessarily in that order) What fun! And since this was a friend from high school, it was reminiscent of the 20 year reunion We are tired. But the kids spent the night with their aunt and Uncle, so we got to stay in a hotel and sleep in...Then we had a nice day with Scott's sister and family and the kids had a blast playing with their cousins. Pictures to follow, going to bed!
This week is Spring break and we have nothing planned. And this is the forecast. Help!

How to potty train your daughter in one day...

Buy cute Hello Kitty underwear. Put them on. Take her to the potty when she yells "Pee Pee coming!!" Repeat. That's it.

P.S. This is NOT AT ALL how it went with my son, so you are on your own if you have boys...
P.S.S. I take no credit whatsoever for this development...

P.S.S.S. I cannot guarantee that it will happen exactly this way with your child...
