We all need a little help...

I have been feeling overwhelmed. Like I am working as hard as I can, but nothing is good enough. Like there isn't enough time in the day to do everything that needs to be done. Like I have no support. Scott had been working a lot, weekends too. Last week I had a night out with friends planned. I had planned it a month ago and was looking forward to it. Our babysitter was sick and Scott couldn't get home. I cried on the phone when he told me. It seems so stupid now, but I just felt like everyone else's commitments are more important than mine. This weekend I was sick and Scott had to work. I lay in bed and he says "are you going to be able to get up?" And I replied "I don't have a choice". The car battery died twice in a week and I had to call someone to help me. And now I have to take it and the two kids to get it fixed. I am just tired. I guess I am feeling sorry for myself. I know it will get better...

Craft Challenge

It should be titled "craft challenged" Cuz' I think that is what I am. I am participating in the "Get your craft on challenge" that some Bloggers Are doing. It started out fine. Except why can't I figure out what right sides together really means? Thank God for the Seam ripper. Then it came time to turn the whole thing right side out. (or is it right side in?). And I couldn't seem to find the straps. anywhere. So I ended up just turning the top edge under and stitching it that way. Maybe I need a class. But I did it. Here is my first bag.

Gracie Girl

A friend told me about this song from Ben Folds called Gracie Girl. (if you go to the bottom, you can listen to part of it) It is just so cute. Except the first lines. They made my heart stop and I started crying. Here are the lyrics:

You can't fool me, I saw you when you came out
You got your momma's taste but you got my mouth
And you will always have a part of me
Nobody else is ever going to see
Gracie girl

With your cards to your chest walking on your toes
What you got in the box only Gracie knows
And I would never try to make you be
Anything you didn't really want to be
Gracie girl

Life flies by in seconds
You're not a baby Gracie, you're my friend
You'll be a lady soon but until then
You gotta do what I say

You nodded off in my arms watching TV
I won't move you an inch even thought my arm's asleep

One day you're gonna want to go
I hope we taught you everything you need to know
Gracie girl

And there will always be a part of me
Nobody else is ever gonna see but you and me
My little girl
My Gracie girl

I love, love love it! Except that first part, which makes me sad. I can never tell her that I saw her when she came out. She doesn't look like me or her Dad. Sometimes I forget that. She is just our daughter. We talk about her adoption all the time, it is a common subject here. But she isn't really old enough to ask the hard questions, yet. What am I going to tell her when she asks why her birth mother left outside a police station? I tell myself that I am adopted,I never met my birth mother and I turned out fine. So she will too, right? right? I can only hope.

My first attemp at a doll...

I say "attempt" because you can't really see how many mistakes there are. I 'll just call her "my pain in the @#$!" All of you who make dolls, you are amazing! I got his pattern from here. This is off a link from Shelley's site. Great Links, Shelley! I may have to start a separate craft blog with all the crafts I have started. My sister gave me one of these for my Birthday and I have been having fun with it. That is in addition to the two scrapbooks I am making for our school auction and keeping up my own scrapbook. Whew! But I enjoy these things. This is what I do instead of watching TV or exercising!!

Happy BIrthday

To me and my sister! The kids helped me make a cake with one of these babies. Oh Yeah! I felt like I was 6 again, instead of 36! I would show you the cake we made, but the dog ate it. That's right, the dog.ate.my.birthday.cake. Is that a sign of bad things to come? So we improvised. It's the birthday waffle. Cameron said that he got me "someone to do all my laundry for me for my birthday"!. Scott said he came up with that all on his own. How did he know that is exactly what I want?? I am lucky.
OK, people, I don't actually have someone coming over to do my laundry( but if you know someone who does, let me know). I just thought it was so thoughtful that he knew that is what I would want!!

Viva Mexico

Wer'e back!! Here is Mexico, in pictures...How could I forget to thank my awesome sister and brother in law for watching the kids for five whole days! Thanks!

P.S.
Poeple have wondered where we went. Belive it or not, this is just 30 minutes south of the border in "Baja California". It is called Rosarito, Mexico. There isn't too much to do there,(I read three books!)but it was still fun!
