Uncensored

So, I am making a playlist for my ipod and decide to burn a CD for the car. As we are listening to it, Scott and I notice that one of the songs mentions the F-word. We did a double take-What did she just say? Ok, so we have to watch it with the kids in the car. Then as we listen more, we realize that there a a lot of songs on my new CD we have to watch! A surprising amount, actually! I swear I picked these songs randomly...Here are the songs on my playlist that have some sort of cuss word in them...
Shame on you- Indigo Girls
Close I've come-Ben Lee
you're' Beautiful-James Blunt. This one shocked me, I was blasting it in the car and where he says "I was flying high", on the radio, he says F-ing!Ummm, Hello! 4 year old in the back!!
Harder to breathe-Maroon 5
Jason Mraz-Who needs shelter
Whew, I guess this will just be for me to listen to by myself! What are the chances I would put them all on one CD?

Great weekend

We have had a great weekend hiking At Point Reyes. Cameron said he wanted to see a light house, so off we went. It took a little longer than we thought to get there, it said it was 30 miles North of SF, but it is such a slow winding road that it took 2 hours! Then we had to hike about a mile to the lighthouse. We were beginning to think there was no lighthouse! It is on the edge of a cliff. We climbed down the 308 steps to it and it was amazing. What a place. Then we had to go back up! Scott was carrying Gracie and the heavy cooler and he ran up-show off! Speaking of my husband, I think he is going to join the marines and just hasn't told me yet. He looses 80 lbs, shaves his head and starts doing this crazy work out called cross fit. They meet at Crissy Field at dark-o-clock in the morning and do one handed push ups and crazy stuff like that...The first day he did it, he came home with bleeding hands, which they promptly took pictures of for the website. Is that supposed to inspire people?? Anyway, that was our fun weekend...Here's some pics.

My head is a box filled with nothing

That is a line from one of my favorite Ben Lee songs.(great album) And it is totally how I feel most of the time. I feel like I can't think straight half the time. Here are just a few examples...I lost my cell phone at Disneyland. I was talking on it one minute, and the next it was gone. I lost my wallet the next day. In my rush to get Gracie to the doctor on Wednesday, Cameron had no shoes on when we got there. That was fun to explain to the Doctor. I forget to pay bills. Our water had been turned off twice in the last year. (FYI...You do not need to be home for them to turn the water off, but must be home all day to wait for them to turn it back on). Thank God for the little "ding" that the car gives me when I am out of gas. I decided to try the stair stepper machine at the Gym. The guy next to me had to help me figure it out. It is the kind that are actual stairs, and they just come up one at a time. It started going too fast and I couldn't turn it off, so I tried to jump off and fell. The guy next to me said "Don't worry, I've done that before". Liar, but God bless you. (OK, maybe that speaks more to clumsiness, but still) I would love to say that this is a new thing and that having two kids is the reason. But I have always been this way. Maybe it has gotten worse, but I think this is just me. After I lost my wallet, Scott and I got into an argument about it. I just said that I have been like this since he has known me (15 years!) and that he needs to just get used to it. But if anyone has any ideas of how to help, please share...

Back online and the most stubborn child EVER

I have not had a computer for 2 days and have been going crazy! I have so much to catch up on! And they had to take everything off and reinstall it, so I have lost all my e mails, contacts, etc...arrggg! But I am back! We have had a frustrating day. I am not sure if I mentioned that Gracie has suddenly decided to not be potty trained anymore. After almost 6 weeks of doing great, by herself. When I try to get her to go she screams "NO, I NOT GO". And then pees on the floor. I have been trying not to make a big deal about it. Some days she is fine and doesn't have one accident, and others she never makes it to the potty once all day. It is exhausting. But today was different. I tried to get her to go before school and she started screaming "NO, it hurt". Then she went a tiny bit, and jumped off and refused to go anymore. So I took her to school and warned the teacher to keep an eye on her and try and get her to go. The teacher came to get me out of Cameron's class where I was working to say that she did the same thing with her. She screamed that it hurt and would only go a tiny bit. SO I called the doctor. They had us come right in. They checked her out and gave me a cup. They told me I had 3 hours to make her pee in the cup. I walked across the street to the Mall and got her some juice. Then I took her to the bathroom. 20 minutes of screaming later, we emerged with an empty cup. We drank some more. We walked some more. We went to the Disney store to pick out a present for when she finally peed(bad mommy, I know). She said she had to go Now. So we ran to the bathroom and more of the same. Screaming, crying,(Gracie, too) not going. I am so tired by this point. It has been 2 hours. I call Scott crying. Poor guy, what is he supposed to do? I haven't sat down all day. She hasn't had a nap. We went one more time and I said we were staying in there until she peed. She finally did. They tested it and they do not think it is an infection. They think she is stubborn. God help me when this child is 12. So, what should I do? Should I go back to diapers? I just don't have the energy for this...

Catching up...

There has been just to much good TV on lately to blog...American Idol (I hope Taylor wins, doesn't everybody?).Catching up on past LOST episodes. Although, can you really catch up on LOST? I constantly feel lost when watching LOST-get it-Ha ha. And then I am trying to get over my Denny obsession and I found this. This is what I do when I should be cleaning the house. That is every clip of Denny on Grey's, ever. So now, here are some Disney pics. It seems so long ago already! Also, here are some Disney Tips:
1.Defintitely go during the week when school is in session. We never waited more than 10 minutes for any ride on Thursday, and even by Friday they were up to 30 minutes.
2.Get a hotel close by so you can go there to swim and rest.
3. Do not take your newly potty trained toddler. Unless you want her to pee in line for a ride and have everyone staring.
4. Bring your own snacks and juice
That is all I can think, I guess it isn't that helpful!

To the writers of Grey's Anatomy

(warning-Do NOT read if you haven't watched it yet!!)
How could you do this to me? I was so excited to sit down and watch 3 whole hours of your great show. I had tivo'd Sunday nights episode and then the two hour finale! I took my shower early and settled into to bed for 3 hours of great television. First, you had to put Meredith and derricks dog to sleep, and get me bawling. It brought back memories of my sweet Libby.
Then, you killed off the love of Izzy's life(and mine-ha!), Denny. How could you?? I will continue to watch, but one more stunt like that, and it's over,
your loyal fan...

Disney Pics tomorrow, I swear!

Bittersweet

That is how I feel about Mother's Day. Scott and I no longer have Mothers. And that makes me sad. I feel sad when I think of Cameron and Grace never having a Grandma to love and spoil them. On the other hand, that means Mother's day is all about me! I have no cards to remember to send, I don't have to call anyone, I just sit back and enjoy and celebrate the best thing that has ever happened to me. There was a time when I wasn't sure I would ever have a child, let alone the two greatest kids in the world. I know some of you reading this still feel that way. The waits have become so long, will it ever really happen? It will. Just believe. I know I sometimes (Ok, A lot) complain about how hard this Motherhood thing is, but it is also the most rewarding job I have ever had. Cameron's class sang us a Mother's Day song last week and I wanted to share it with you, because, well, it is just the cutest thing ever. I want you to picture you child up there, because some day, they will be.

P.S. Cameron is the second one on the right in the last row who is laughing with his friend instead of holding up his sign!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Road Trip!

Well, we are off to the House of Mouse in about an hour! I still get so excited to go to Disneyland. I guess it is because I have such fond memories of it from when I was a child. I love sharing with my kids. Cameron is just so excited! I will have the computer, so I can upload the 500 pictures I am sure I will take!!

Cute Pictures (but I'm biased)

We have had a busy weekend with tow birthday parties. One was for a friend of Cameron's that we have know since he was born, and the other was for a fellow adoptive family that used our agnecy. Their daughter, Maggie, turned two. The weather was great for both and we just enjoyed being outside. Maggie's was at China Camp State Park, which we had never been to and is beautiful. I can't wait to go back and go hiking. A great weekend all arounbd, I hope you all had the same!

A day off (yeah, right)

So the babysitter couldn't come on Tuesday (again). This is the flakeyist babysitter ever, but that is a story for another time...So she says she can come for 3 hours today. I sent them off to the park with lunch and what did I do with my time off, you ask? I cleaned the house. I even cleaned the carpets. Then I went grocery shopping. What's wrong with me? I really need a life (and a housekeeper). I feel like all I do is clean, and yet, the house is always a disaster. I vacuumed, I mopped, I scrubbed. And when they got home, Gracie peed on the newly cleaned carpets (we are having potty training issues, suddenly) And then Cameron spilled his juice on the newly mopped floor. And now all the couch cushions are on the floor and the house looks the same as when they left. I should have taken a nap...

I had to do this one...

I love it!
People Envy Your Compassion

You have a kind heart and an unusual empathy for all living creatures. You tend to absorb others' happiness and pain.
People envy your compassion, and more importantly, the connections it helps you build. And compassionate as you are, you feel for them.

You asked for it...

But you can't see how bad it is in the picture...I swear...

Worst Haircut. Ever.

I rarely get my haircut. When I do, I go to this little salon where she charges me $20.00 to trim the bangs and back. Every once in a while I will have it cut shorter, but not that much of a change. I was happy this way. Then at our school Auction there was a gift certificate to this fancy smancy hair Salon by the kids school (which is in the "Nice" part of town). So I thought I needed a change and bid on it and won it. I went last Thursday. The last thing I said to him was "I am trying to grow it out, I just need a trim". He cut lots of short, choppy layers. I almost cried when I saw it. I do not know what I am going to do with it! I can't wear it up, and I don't know how to style it without it going every which way...I hate it...I guess I'll be wearing a lot of these.
And believe me, I have already ran out and bought a few...
