Just call me Martha (not)

I made this doorway puppet theater for the kids for Christmas. I saw one in a catalog and thought it would be easy. I just measured a doorway and sewed curtains to about double the length. I bought an adjustable curtain rod and voila'! It can be taken down and stored when not in use. Speaking of Martha, I found this site, which I love!

Totally busted!!

Tonight, Scott took the kids down for bed and I started on some wrapping. I waited about an hour the get the kids stuff out, I thought for sure they were asleep. So there I am with toys and packages all around me,and I hear "Mommy, what are you doing?". It scared the You-know-what out of me, I didn't even hear him come up the stairs! I was so startled I kind of yelled "what are you doing up? GO back to bed!" Then he starts to cry. (Good one, Mom!) So then I took him down and apologized and said that I was just wrapping some of his presents and that he surprised me. I think all is well, now...

Early Morning bike ride...

I've hit a Christmas Wall...

I love Christmas. I had my tree and decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. I listen to Christmas Carols the whole month (which drives Scott crazy). But lately, I am just not feeling it. I realize that suddenly I have 50% more work to do on top of the work I already do. The cards, the wrapping, the baking. And the budget, Let's not even talk about that. Then Scott comes home with not one, but two cards from the giving tree at work. And he signed up to bring all the drinks for a party tomorrow night. (thanks honey). It just seems overwhelming. Whew, I feel better just writing it down! Now back to our regularly scheduled holiday cheer...

I love this one, we got these in China.

So here are two!
This is one of Scott's from when he was young. His parents bought him a new ornament every year and we have continued this tradition.

Made by Gracie last year.

Buster

Someone asked if I could post a photo of our dog. This is Buster. He is a good dog, just loud! he barks when we get home. he barks when we leave. he barks when he is happy. he barks when he is not. He barks a lot. But we love him. He is not really that into the kids, so we are considering getting a more family type dog soon, since our Lab died last year. (We'll keep Buster, too, of course!) Here is the ornament for today.

Scott's not so happy with our labels...

He doesn't like that he is bald in the picture. I said "but honey, you shave your head, that kind of makes you bald". He says I should have just given him hair in the picture. Sorry, they don't have one with "just a little hair"
I got these from Mandy's Moon.

Gettin' Crafty

I saw this little guy at a craft show this weekend and thought it would be perfect to make for my kids at school for Christmas. If only I had a sewing machine! So My sister gave me this, an early christmas present (which I saw on Nino's site and had to have. yes, I copy everything from her!)So I set about making it. It is a candy holder, isn't he cute? I am very proud of myself!
