The beginning of Summer...

Many people don't knw this, but Labor Day is actually the beginning of Summer in the San Francisoc Bay Area. All summer it has been foggy and freezing and now is when it gets sunny and beautiful. So keep that in mind if you want to visit! We got the pool out today, and it was so was even the Buster went swimming! Of course, this is all relative. All of our friends in Texas, the mid-west and the east coast are laughing at us-85 degrees is HOT?? HA! but remember that we don't have air conditioning...

Cameron's 4 year check up

Cameron had his 4 year check up today. They tested his hearing and vision. She asked him his numbers and colors and he did great. He showed her ho he could hop on one foot and spin around! She is still concerned about his speech and wants him to begin speech therapy. We have been watching it and some of his Pronounciations are not getting better. He says the "S" combinations with and "SH". Like "SCHIDERMAN" instead of "Spiderman". And "SHOOTER" instead of "Scooter". The other day he told me he had to "SPIT". I will let you guess how that came out! It took me a few times to get it right!! Luckily, I didn't get upset and tell him not to say that! Then he had to get two shots AND a TB test. I think I told him no shots today, so he was very upset by it. The anticipation of the shots was worse than the actual shots! All in al he is very healthy and happy!

Needs an explanation!

The reason I titled the last picture "Cameron trying to achieve inner peace" is because he was doing the labyrinth and that is the goal for doing that. What I didn't realize is that he was grabbing his-UMM- private area at the time...sorry...I hope no one got the wrong idea!

The city from the bridge Posted by Picasa

Can you have too many pictures of the Gloden Gate?

I don't think so...Today is Scott's Birthday and he wanted to spend the whole day in the city playing "tourist". Last week someone at the reunion asked us if we do cool things like walk over the bridge all the time? We were embarrassed to admit that we have NEVER walked over the bridge! So today we did. But first we went to the Museum of Modern Art. Now I have to admit, I am more of a Fine Arts person. And explaining the rules to Cameron and Gracie, I was a bit skeptical...No Running...No yelling..And don't touch ANYTHING...Have you met our kids??(or any 2 and 4 year olds, for that matter) But it was Scott's Birthday, so we gave it a try! Do I even need to tell you how it ends? Lets just say we stayed for about a half hour and left with Gracie under Scott's arm screaming bloody murder and Cameron being asked NOT TO TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE by the museum guard...so off to the bridge. This was much more fun! It was a beautiful day with the fog just burning off. We walked across, ran around for a bit and walked back. Very nice time had by all. Then it was off to lunch. Gracie had fallen asleep and stayed asleep in the stroller,so except for one minor water spilling incident, lunch was good!
Then we wanted to go and see the "inside your body exhibit" But after our last museum experience, we decided against it! So we went to a park in Nob Hill instead. Then Cameron wanted to show me the "big Church" that he and Daddy went to when I was out of town, so we went into Grace Cathedral. Again, what were we thinking?? As soon as you walk in there is a big bowl of holy water. Cameron walks up to it and smacks it and sends water flying everywhere!! Time to go...Gracie doesn't want to go and goes "noodle legs" as we are trying to pick her up and begins to scream at the top of her lungs! That child can yell!! And that ends our day in the city...More pictures to follow...

Friends from group 93

On Tuesday we met a friend from our adoption group-Kristin Van Weele. We met at a really nice park in Marin. It is funny to see how much Gracie and Meigan are alike. They are both from Moaming. Kristin's older daughter, Catie and Cameron played, too. We have to do it more often!

More pics from this weekend...

I forgot about these in my Camera! Cameron and Gracie had so much fun with thier cousins and Aunt and Uncle. They took great care of them while we were busy with the "reunion Weekend!" I hardly saw them! We did go to a baseball game that was fun. I can't remeber much of the game, though, it seemed I was in line for fod most of the time!!

Long boring week...

This has been a long week! We have had nothing planned and all our friends are out of town.We have mostly been haning around the house. This morning it was finally sunny enough to get out the pool. I have been getting a lot done around the house, though! I hate housework! With 2 kids and 2 dogs, it seems neverending. Luckily, our babysitter vcomes today! I love Tuesdays and Thursdays! (Fridays arent so bad, either!)

*warning* Political tirade...

I just wathced Hotel Rawanda...I could not stop crying. one MILLION people masacred in their own homes and towns. And NO ONE came to help them. Think about that for a minute. yYou are living your life and soldiers come and kill your friends and family. For no reason...and nobody seems to care. And yet we have our friends and family in Iraq because-actually I don't know why we are there. Because we "thought" they had weapons to use against us? I am not sayig that Saddam Hussein is a great guy or anything, but we can't help a million people in Africa???? You must see this movie. I was having a bad day utnil now. The worst thing that happend to me today was a hard time with my two kids at costco.I may live in a place where our mayor and President are total idiots, but at least I live in a place where I am pretty sure nothing like that could happen.

I will explain...

Cameron got a hold of the tape and decided to make himself a "costume" He wouldnt let me see it until he was done. so he comes out looking like this! Then he says
"this hurts, maybe it wasn't such a good idea!!" REALLY????

Maybe this wasn't such a good idea...

I'm so behind...

We were gone this weekend to Fresno for Scott's 20 year high school reunion...it was a lot of fun. I didn't know many people, but aparently Scott was popular in high school and knew everyone! We were joking that it was like that episode of Friends where Monica dfinally gets to date the poular high school guy...she aks"So,do you still hang out with anyone from High School?" and he says, "no, not really..just Zeke,Manual,Marco(these are all friends that Scott still keeps in contact with!!!),Kirk,Rod,Keith,Erik...you know, not that many!" We enjoyed ourselves and I actually got to hear a few high school stories I hadn't already heard 50 times!!
On another note:
Four year old birthday presents...WHY does EVERY single one of them have to have 500 pieces? and why do they say on the box "ages 3 and up" when you need an engineering degree to put the thing together??? and now they are srpead all over my house..
well, scott needs the computer...more tomorrow. sorry, havent spell checked.
