Happy New Year and leaving on a cruise!
That's right, we are going on a four day cruise WITHOUT the children! Why have I not mentioned this before, you ask? Well, because I have sort of been in denial about it....Scott got it for me for my 35th birthday on January 5th and I have been wavering between being more excited than I have ever been and being sick to my stomach at the thought of leaving them....I have never left them for so long. It would be fine if they were staying with Aunt Michelle the entire 5 days, but Michelle had to go back to work so they will be with a babysitter for half of it. And this is the part I am nervous about. I just spent an hour and a half typing out EVERY little detail of my day with the kids and I am exhausted just reading it! It is four pages long, my life reduced to 4 pages...I do A LOT!!! I hope Aunt Michelle and the babysitter can handle it....

i know it is hard to leave the little ones, but it will be worth it. everybody needs a short break once in a while. and a cruise is the perfect opportunity to relax. we got a lot of relaxation value out of ours. i'm looking forward to hearing about it when you get back.
I am so jealous. It will be hard to leave, but it sounds oh-so-good. Enjoy your time away. It will be good for everyone!
Ummm....Excuse me, but you're nervous about leaving the kids with ME? Amazing Aunt Michelle? Did you forget I work in a childcare center? And that I have a degree in early childhood education? And I was a nanny for two years? AND I'm CPR certified? O.K, I know they can be a handful, but we'll be fine. The babysitter will be fine too. They act much differently when Mom and Dad aren't around!
