We are supposed to be sitting on a beach in Mexico. Right. Now. But when we got to the ticket counter (after a looonnng line), they told us that we could not go to Mexico with Grace because she only has a Chinese passport. Now, I'm sure we should have checked this out more, but our travel agent said it would be fine. We had the certificate of citizenship, the Chinese birth certificate and the adoption decree. She assured us that would be fine. And even Cameron (and me) crying about it didn't help. So we went directly to the U.S. passport office for a long day of waiting for a passport. Well, the San Francisco passport office rocks! after only an hour and a half, we will have a passport by 6:00PM. The bad news is that all the flights are booked. we could go standby, but I can't go through that again and not get on the plane! So we leave Tuesday. It's no the end of the world...Here is a picture of us watching a movie on the DVD player at the passport office!
Don't we look happy??
This is costing us a thousand dollars-ugg!

Oh, that just so blooowwws! So sorry Lisa.
That travel agent should be quaking in her boots right about now.
U.G.G.H. That's just not right. But, soon, margaritas.
OMG! Not okay! Keep your chins up and think tropical drinks and white sandy beaches!
BUMMER! I would for sure give your travel agent a piece of your mind! But so cool you can get Gracie's passport THAT FAST! Sorry it's gonna cost you (cha ching!) But have a blast when you get there and relax a little for all of us at home still. And yes, Gracie does look HAPPY :-) Hvae fun! Adios my friend!
That just sucks. I'm having a crappy day too. Must be going around. At least you still get to go, even if a few days late. I could use me some sittin' on the beach drinking margaritas about now.
Grace looks thrilled ;0)
Sorry bout that!
that travel agent should find another job...cant' use the PRC passports...only place they're good for is taking space in your safety deposit box....
nothing like paying $$$ for an expedited passport... :))

Arrrrrrrr! That is terrible! I'm so sorry. Soon, right? Soon.......
What a disappointment (and an expensive one, at that!). But you'll soon be on your way.
Thanks for sharing this little tid bit of info too. We have Gwen's US passport but didn't feel any urgengy to get Maddy's since I didn't think it really mattered if you weren't going back to China right away.
Have fun in Mexico!
Donna
I would have some serious words for your travel agency. Isn't that why you use one?
Sorry about the delay....
