What's for Dinner?
When Cameron was born, I didn't have a lot of friends and family close by. My sister stayed for 3 weeks, thank God, or we would have starved. When I joined the Mother's club I decided to start an "In a pinch" service. Mostly for mom's who have just had babies, a death in the family, just moved here, etc... I would recruit people to bring about a weeks worth of meals to this family. I really enjoyed helping others and would usually bring a meal myself. I will make you 5 course meal! Salad, homemade cornbread, fresh baked cookies (or, Cotchies, as Gracie calls them-cracks me up every time!!) and an entree with vegetables....Lately, though, it has been getting to my husband. He comes home and says "ooohh, cookies..." And I say "back away from the cookies, they are for so and so, who just had a baby". Then he will say "What is that great smell?". "It is homemade bread, for so and so also". Then he will ask "well, what are We having for dinner?". To which I reply "frozen pizza". And he asks "Why don't you ever make these elaborate meals for us??" Yeah, like I have time for that...

i hate dinner. i feed the children cereal more nights than i care to admit.
Yeah, dinner aroind our house has come down to whatever I can throw together in fifteen minutes or less. Not exactly nutritiou either. Lately I too have taken to having cereal, and Joe fends for himself when he gets home from work. I'm certainly not going to win any "wife of the year" awards this year!
So funny. My husband claims there is 'no food in the house' when we run out of frozen pizza's. Never mind everything else we have.
I do one of those dinner service things. You order online, schedule a "session, show up at the appointed time and assemble 8 meals-split in 2 (so really 16 meals) in 90 minutes. Pop it all in the freezer..dinner all month in two hours. We love it!
Now if I can just remember to defrost something!
